Sagan in TAC2009: Using Support Vector Machines in Recognizing Textual Entailment and TE Search Pilot task
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes the Sagan system in the context of the Fifth Pascal Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE-5) Evaluation Challenge and the new Textual Entailment Search Pilot Task. The system employs a Support Vector Machine classifier with a set of 32 features, which includes lexical and semantic similarity for both two-way and three-way classification tasks. Additionally, we show an approach to deal with the problem of search entailment in a context of a set of document that uses co-reference analysis.

Sagan in TAC2010: A Machine Learning Approach to RTE within a Corpus
This paper describes the Sagan system in the context of the Sixth Pascal Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE6) and the RTE task within a Corpus. The system employs a Support Vector Machine classifier which uses semantic similarity metrics to sentence level using only WordNet as source of knowledge, and co-reference analysis. Additionally, we proposed a baseline to the Novelty Detection subtask.
متن کاملAn approach using Named Entities for Recognizing Textual Entailment
This paper describes the Sagan system in the context of the Fourth Pascal Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE-4) Evaluation Challenge. Sagan applies a Support Vector Machine classifier to examples characterized by four features based on: edit distance, distance in WordNet and Longest Common Substring between text and hypothesis. Additionally, we created a filter applying hand-crafted rules base...
متن کاملLearning Textual Entailment using SVMs and String Similarity Measures
We present the system that we submitted to the 3rd Pascal Recognizing Textual Entailment Challenge. It uses four Support Vector Machines, one for each subtask of the challenge, with features that correspond to string similarity measures operating at the lexical and shallow syntactic level.
متن کاملText Grouping using Textual Entailment
Textual Entailment is an important field in Natural Language Processing domain. Given two texts called T (Text) and H (Hypothesis), the textual entailment recognition is the task of deciding whether the meaning of H can be logically inferred from that of T. A Textual Entailment (TE) system has developed and this system has tested on various entailment standard datasets. This TE will apply to di...
متن کاملConsidering Discourse References in Textual Entailment Annotation
In the 2009 Recognizing Textual Entailment challenge a Search Pilot task has been introduced, aimed at finding all the sentences in a corpus which entail a set of given hypotheses. The preparation of the data set for this task has provided an opportunity to better understand some phenomena concerning textual entailment recognition in a natural setting. This paper focuses on some problematic iss...
